FAQ
Thunder ensures confidentiality by allowing you to control what information is viewable. There are no public profiles, and users must have a login to view profiles. Basic profile data is accessible to the investor network until both parties opt-in for a match. Company data rooms and proprietary information are only visible to investors you choose to share it with.
If you're raising money, you must first submit your profile for review and sign an engagement letter. After that, a Thunder team member will review your matches and reach out to investors to confirm their interest. Once an investor agrees to match, you can then communicate with them.
Thunder is free for founders to apply to the network. VCs can reach out to you directly if they feel you're a fit. If you wish to unlock your matches and contact VCs directly, you can upgrade to Premium Access for a fee of $500.
Yes, if you upgrade to Premium Access, you will have a consultation session to optimize your profile. If the team decides they can't deliver value or you don't meet venture backable requirements, you will receive an immediate refund. Additionally, if within 3 days you find the matches inaccurate or irrelevant and haven't contacted any VCs, you can request a refund.
Thunder's AI takes into account 85 points of data to determine relevant deals. It uses a logistic regression model to calculate a dynamic company score and assigns a Match Score based on variables like stage, sector, location, revenue, and product adoption to identify the best fit.
Thunder predominantly works with B2B and B2C technology companies, spanning software and hardware. Deal stages range from pre-seed to pre-IPO, with transaction sizes typically ranging from $5M to $50M.
Thunder ensures that companies presented to investors are 'transaction-ready,' meaning all key information is packaged and easily accessible. This minimizes back-and-forth and makes for a smoother investment process.
Yes, Thunder operates through Jason Kirby, a registered representative with Stonehaven LLC, a FINRA-registered broker-dealer. All investment communications are conducted by licensed professionals.
