Raster operations like cropping, blurring, and color picking only work on the original screenshot, not on annotation objects. To enable raster operations for the entire image, go to Edit → Rasterize Image in the menu.
Take a Fullscreen Capture and crop it in-app by selecting and pressing Enter. This is similar to the Area Capture but allows selection after the screenshot is taken. For an experimental screen-freezing area capture, follow the steps here: https://shottr.cc/kb/customareacapture.
If macOS can't remove the app bundle file, quit Shottr completely, remove the Shottr file from the /Applications/ folder, and then try installing the new version again.
Go to the app Settings → Advanced tab and check the 'Don't show splash' checkbox.
