The Problem Spotter identifies potential errors in two categories: Data and Display. Data errors include issues like individuals older than 120 years still living, incorrect birth or death dates, and unlinked individuals. Display errors include overlapping individuals or families, and incorrect ordering of siblings.
Yes, you can run the Problem Spotter on a selection rather than your entire family tree. Simply select a group of individuals or a branch, right-click to get the context menu, and select Problem Spotter, or press Ctrl+E.
You can disable the automatic Problem Spotter in the Options dialog from the Tools menu.
In GenoPro 2016, potential errors cannot be ignored, which may be annoying. However, in GenoProX, you will have the option to ignore specific problems, and GenoPro will save them into an 'ignore list' inside the file.
To fix overlapping individuals, click on one individual and move them around to see if there is nothing else around. For overlapping families, ensure the horizontal lines do not overlap. You can also use the right-most column in the Problem Spotter to identify and select overlapping objects.
