macOS Tahoe introduces Liquid Glass, a new design that refracts and reflects content in real time, bringing more clarity to navigation and controls. It also features updated app icons, personalized controls and menu bar, and refreshed apps with sidebars and toolbars that reflect the depth of your workspace.

Apple Intelligence is integrated into more apps and experiences, helping you get things done effortlessly. It can summarize text, create images, provide responses in Shortcuts, and offer more ways to express yourself with images like emoji and descriptions. It also helps with Live Translation in Messages, FaceTime, and the Phone app.

Continuity now includes Live Activities on Mac, which appear in the menu bar and open in iPhone Mirroring for real-time actions. The new Phone app for Mac allows you to make and take calls, access synced content like Recents and Contacts, and use features like Call Screening and Hold Assist.

Spotlight has received its biggest update ever, allowing you to take hundreds of actions without lifting your hands off the keyboard. It includes new quick keys for faster actions and keeps all your apps and most accessed files within easy reach, including intelligent suggestions based on your routines.

macOS Tahoe includes Magnifier for zooming in on surroundings with a connected camera, Accessibility Reader for a customized reading and listening experience, Braille Access for an all-new interface for braille displays, and Vehicle Motion Cues to help reduce motion sickness in moving vehicles.

The Messages app now allows you to create polls, personalize conversations with backgrounds, and view redesigned conversation details with sections for contact info, photos, links, and location. It also includes typing indicators in groups, screening tools for spam, and an Add Contact button for unknown numbers in groups.

macOS Tahoe is compatible with MacBook Neo (2026), MacBook Air with Apple silicon (2020 and later), MacBook Pro with Apple silicon (2020 and later), MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2019), MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2020, Four Thunderbolt 3 ports), iMac (2020 and later), Mac mini (2020 and later), and Mac Studio (2022 and later).

The new Games app brings together all the games you have on your Mac. It includes a Game Overlay for adjusting system settings, chatting with friends, or inviting them to play without leaving the game. For developers, Metal 4 brings advanced graphics and rendering technologies like MetalFX Frame Interpolation and Denoising.
