InvMon

InvMon offers a flexible approach to asset valuation. You can manage your financial picture top-down by entering high-level balance items in the Accounts & Balances panel, or bottom-up by building and managing your portfolio position by position in the Portfolio view. This allows you to balance simplicity and detail according to your needs.

Portfolio Groups in InvMon provide an additional level of structure, allowing you to organize groups of portfolios side by side. They also enable simulation portfolios, two different weighting models (percent weighted and qualitative), and the ability to adjust target weights for a complete portfolio group, which recalculates individual portfolio and instrument targets.

InvMon uses a 'Targets First' approach. You start by deciding how much of your broker account's available value you want to invest, then decide on the number of portfolios and their focus. You fill your portfolios with candidate instruments and assign target weights. InvMon then automatically calculates the effective number of contracts to buy or sell based on these targets.

InvMon offers two distinct perspectives: the Accounts & Balances panel for a top-down view, where you manage your financial picture by entering high-level balance items, and the Portfolio view for a bottom-up view, where you build and manage your portfolio position by position. These perspectives provide different insights into your financial performance.

In InvMon, you can organize your assets using Balance Items and Item Groups. Balance Items represent all your assets and liabilities and can be grouped using Item Groups, which act like folders. This allows you to create hierarchies of arbitrary depth and quickly set the focus of the Dashboard chart by clicking an Item Group or nested Balance Item.

The Dashboard View provides an overview of your financial situation with data panels for accounts, balances, portfolios, and more. The Portfolio View offers a detailed look at your portfolios, including charts, delta orders, open orders, transactions, and action logs, allowing you to manage and monitor your investments in depth.

InvMon collects historical data points for balance items and portfolio positions over time. This data is used to provide insights into your financial performance and trends. The 'How Historical Data Collection Works' section in the help document explains this process in more detail.
