Yes, SmartScore users must have their copies verified online. However, if your computer cannot be connected to the Internet, paid customers can be manually authorized by contacting our Technical Support group at tech@musitek.com.
No, you do not need your prior version installed when upgrading to SmartScore. In fact, it is recommended to uninstall your previous version before installing the upgrade.
You can install your copy of SmartScore up to 5 times from both download and CD installers. If you exceed this limit, you can contact tech@musitek.com for additional installations.
You can view the interactive manual in SmartScore by going to HELP > Interactive Manual Online. Additionally, a PDF version of the manual is available at HELP > SmartScore Manual (PDF).
For Windows, the SmartScore demo cannot be reset after it has timed out. For Macintosh, you can reactivate the demo by deleting specific files and reinstalling the demo.
If you have recognition or editing issues, you should send your source .TIFF or .PDF file to tech@musitek.com. For editing issues, also send the SmartScore .ENF file.
If your score is larger than your scanner, you can reduce the pages using a large-format page copier, or scan the upper and lower halves separately and merge them using image processing software.
You can export files to other music notation programs by selecting 'Save As' and choosing the appropriate format for your target program.
