PromptPaste started because AI coding tools reward longer, more detailed prompts — but typing 200-word prompts into a terminal dozens of times a day is slow and hard on your hands. Existing voice tools either sent everything to the cloud (a non-starter for privacy-conscious developers and restricted work environments), were macOS-only, or weren't built for the terminal/editor workflow at all.
