Net Nanny currently supports Windows 10 and above, macOS 10.13 to macOS 11.x, and iOS 11 and higher. Android, Kindle Fire, and Chromebook devices are not supported pending the release of the new version in 2024.
To install Net Nanny, ensure you have an account, then download the software from the installation page on the device you wish to protect. Follow the instructions to download and set up Net Nanny, and enter your account credentials to authorize the installation.
To block or allow specific websites, log in to the Parent Dashboard, select the Child Profile, go to Profile Settings, and choose 'Block or Allow Specific Websites.' To block apps on iOS, follow similar steps in the Profile Settings under 'Block or Allow Specific Apps.'
First, ensure the Net Nanny Child App is running in the background. If not, open it and leave it running. Also, verify that Location Services for the Net Nanny Child App are set to 'Always' in the device settings. If issues persist, toggle the VPN off and on again.
Log in to the Parent Dashboard, select the Child Profile, go to 'Internet and Device Availability,' and choose 'Create Schedule.' Select the days and times you want to block internet access or pause the device, then save the changes.
Reports are accessible through the Parent Dashboard. Log in, select the Child Profile, and tap on the 'Searches,' 'Screen Time,' 'Blocks/Alerts,' or 'Location' icons to view search terms, screen time usage, blocked/alerted sites, and location history.
When screen time is exceeded or the device is paused, the Windows computer will block all internet access and minimize open windows. Attempting to open a window will display a message indicating the device is paused or screen time has been exceeded.
Log in to the Parent Dashboard, select the Menu icon in the upper right corner, go to 'General Settings,' and choose 'Change Password.' Enter and confirm your new password, then save the changes.
