During the pending registration period, your toll-free number will be subject to the following messaging thresholds: Daily Limit: 500 messages, Weekly Limit: 1,000 messages, Monthly Limit: 2,000 messages. All messages, regardless of success, count toward these limits.
Verification is required to protect consumers from spam messages. New compliance rules mandate that all toll-free numbers used for SMS must be verified through an application process to continue sending messages after November 3, 2023.
If your application is not submitted by November 3, 2023, you will not be able to send any SMS messages after that date. You can still submit after the deadline, but approval is required before resuming texting.
You need to provide your EIN or Tax ID, business number, URL/website or social media link, campaign description, proof of opt-in consent (e.g., screenshots of sign-up forms or paper forms), and sample messages.
The vetting and approval process for your toll-free application can take up to six weeks. Processing is handled by an outside vendor, and Line2 cannot expedite the application.
Forbidden messages include high-risk financial services (e.g., payday loans, cryptocurrency), gambling, illegal substances, multi-level marketing, debt collection, and anything under S.H.A.F.T (sex, hate, alcohol, firearms, tobacco).
Applications may be rejected due to incomplete information or unsupported business types. Customer support will provide details on the reason for rejection or request additional information to help verify your toll-free number.
