FAQ
We control growth by requiring users to obtain an invite code before signing up. This helps us understand who is referring new users and maintain quality. We also plan to introduce features like teams, upvotes/downvotes, and community tools to further enhance quality.
We do not absolutely forbid paid reviews but require users to disclose any conflicts of interest, including compensation or product samples. We will block users who write reviews where their opinion has been predetermined by a third party offering compensation.
You can translate the user interface using translatewiki.net. After signing up, you'll need to complete 20 small example translations to prove your proficiency. Once approved, you can start translating into your language. Languages are enabled once they reach 100% completion.
CC-0 is the legally safest way to put content in the public domain under international law. Since we have no intention of enforcing legal claims, a license that gives re-users maximum freedom with minimal friction seemed reasonable.
Currently, lib.reviews is run by volunteers without payment. If the project becomes sufficiently mature, we may add donation links and set up legal mechanisms for tax deductibility. For major support before then, you can contact project founder Erik Moeller.
