FAQ
Go to the create page to make a 'Kitty' for your event. Give it a name, enter the names of all participants, and click 'Create Kitty'. You can then begin adding expenses.
Yes. When adding an expense, click 'Split differently' under the 'How Much' field. You can then specify exact amounts or shares for each participant.
Default shares allow you to set predefined shares for each participant, which are automatically applied to new expenses. This is useful for families or couples who want to share expenses collectively. Only Super Kitties support this feature.
Kittysplit calculates the simplest way to settle debts by minimizing transactions. It works by having everyone who owes money put it in the middle and then everyone who is owed money takes from the middle, simplifying transactions where possible.
Each Kitty has a unique link that you can share via email or chat. You can also click 'Invite to Kitty!' to display the link. Providing your email when creating the Kitty ensures you can retrieve the link later.
You can export all expenses, calculations, and final balances as an XLSX file by clicking 'Export as Excel file' in the dropdown menu or on the overview page under 'How to settle all debts'.
You can delete a Kitty by opening it and selecting 'Delete Kitty' from the dropdown menu. To request deletion of all your data, send an email to help@kittysplit.com with your request.
While an app would be useful, it would require significant development effort and may not add enough value. Kittysplit works on all platforms, including mobile browsers, so an app isn't currently a priority.
