FAQ
Atticus is a progressive web app. To install it, click the icon in your URL bar. For more details, check out the tutorial on installing Atticus on your PC, Mac, iOS, Chromebook, or Android.
Try a hard refresh in your browser. On Mac, press COMMAND + SHIFT + R, and on PC, press CTRL + SHIFT + R. If that doesn’t work, try logging into Chrome incognito mode or clearing your cache.
No, it is strongly discouraged to copy and paste content from other programs into Atticus. This can import hidden formatting and coding, leading to export issues, formatting errors, or even data loss. Instead, import from a docx file.
If you have the Grammarly app installed, try turning it off while using Atticus. This can resolve lag or crashing issues. If Grammarly is not the issue, submit a support ticket for further troubleshooting.
To export to .docx, go to the book details section in your book, scroll to the bottom of the popup, and click the .docx export button. Note that Word will only retain basic formatting, not the complex coding used by Atticus.
Blank pages may appear if a chapter is set to start on the right side but the previous chapter also ended on a right side. To fix this, reset the 'Begin on' settings in your content list and then set it back to your preferred option.
If you forgot your password, follow the guide provided to reset it. If you haven’t set up your account yet, check your email (including spam) for the 'Welcome to Atticus' email and click the button to set up your password.
For ePub exports, the cover appears in the device library but not as a separate first page. For print books, publishers require a separate file for the cover, so Atticus doesn’t export it. To include a cover as a title page, insert a full-page image in the front matter.
