Abot for Slack

You can send an anonymous channel message or direct message using the app home buttons or Slack commands. For a channel message, use the 'Send a channel message' button or type /abot channel. For a direct message, use the 'Send a direct message' button or type /abot user. Note that direct messages are disabled by default.

To create a poll, type /abot poll in the Slack channel. You can configure the poll to have delayed results, public or private display, and optional voting closure. Other team members can vote and leave anonymous comments unless disabled by admins.

Abot does not store message content on its servers, and metadata is regularly removed. On Slack Free or Pro plans, no one in your team can track message authors. However, on Business+ or Enterprise Grid plans, admins may determine the sender from private message export logs. Without such exports, even Slack admins cannot track authors.

You can configure 'allowed channels' globally, enabling all team members to send messages to those channels. Alternatively, use 'subteam channels' to restrict anonymous communication to specific groups. Both options can be combined for fine-tuned control.

Abot requests minimal permissions to function, such as reading channel names and sending messages. It does not read your team's public messages or access email addresses. Detailed security documentation is available on demand.

To cancel your subscription, remove the Abot app from your Slack team. The subscription will automatically cancel within a couple of hours.

You can enable moderation for anonymous channel messages. When enabled, messages are first posted to a 'moderator users channel' for approval. Moderation can be set for public or private channels but does not apply to direct messages or polls.
